Week 2 Explanation
This lesson was from a year 7 tech mandatory class that includes Food Technology and Agriculture.
I used very simple techniques to incorporate digital technologies into this lesson. Originally the lesson used no technology at all, students were to create tables in their workbooks as they are easy to transport to the agriculture farm and not easily damaged either on the way to and from the farm or while students are handling animals.
Changes: (indicated in yellow highlight)
I would allow students to use mobile phones to track changes in their chick's development and have them upload images to use in a table created in Microsoft Word (I would a type of software designed to not only record the tabled weights and graph progress but also use the pictures in some manner, but at this stage I am unfamiliar with programs that can achieve this, something I must rectify.) I would use Microsoft Word or Google Docs at this stage as they are programs I am familiar with.
I would also create a Kahoot quiz to revise the nutrition labels we had covered in the previous lesson, Kahoot is a fun and interactive way for students to revise prior learning and, from what I have seen, students appear to enjoy the competitive nature and will often ask to compete again to better their scores and try to get the high score within the class.
